How do I book a bouncy castle / soft play equipment?

How much notice do I need to give for a booking?

You can make a booking at anytime, however bookings get very busy so we do advise you to book as early as possible to avoid disappointment and secure the equipment and date of you choice. Alternatively you can contact us on the day as we may have some availability.


When is your equipment available for hire?

Our equipment is available for hire 7 days a week all year round including most Bank Holidays.


How long do we get the equipment for?

You choose how long to hire the equipment for to suit your requirements from 2 hours up to a maximum 6 hours for a normal hire period. We normally make deliveries between 08.00 and 12.00 (noon) and then start collections between 15.00 and 18.00, however we do try to be flexible to suit your requirements where we can. Please not that indoor bookings will take priority for deliveries and collections over outside bookings due to the restricted access times to the venues.

(Please note that party start times after 12:00 will have a reduced hire period as our standard finish time is 18:00! For example if your party start time is 13:00 the maximum time you can select for party finish time is 18:00 = 5 hours / 14:00 - 18:00 = 4 hours and so on!

Do I have to pay a deposit?

Yes, a non-refundable Booking Fee/Deposit of 25% (rounded up to the nearest £5) is required at time of booking to secure your booking.


How can I pay for my hire?

Booking Fee/Deposits: Can be made by Debit Card/Credit Card/American Express/Mastercard

Balance Payments: Cash on delivery or Debit Card/Credit Card/American Express/Mastercard/BACS/Bank transfer paid 3 days before the hire date.

Or you can choose to pay the full amount at time of booking either online or by telephone.

All payments are taken via Square secure payment platform.

What if I need to cancel the booking?

ALL cancellations must be made by telephone 01749 938608 and speaking to a member of staff during normal office hours (9am-5pm Mon-Fri). All cancellations will be confirmed in writing via email & this must be kept as your proof of cancellation. Cancellations cannot be taken by voice mail, text, email or any other methods.

In order to amend or cancel your booking, please provide us with as much notice as is reasonably practicable.

How long does it take to set up & pack away?

It normally takes us between 15-20 minutes to set up and safety check a standard bouncy castle. Collection normally takes us between 10-15 minutes.

However as a guide we do ask you to allow the following time before the event for the company to deliver and setup the equipment and also after the event for them to take down and remove the equipment.;

20-30 minutes for a standard inflatable/ Soft play package.

30-40 minutes Disco dome/ Carnival obstacle course.

30-45 minutes Super slide.

Please allow extra time if your order includes party extras e.g. Didicars, Tractors, Trucks, Roller coasters etc (5 mins)

For multiple units i.e. dual package/ soft play package plus bouncy castle allow at least another 20 minutes.

For indoor venues we require 1 hour before and after your party times to ensure adequate time to set up & pack away without any unexpected delays causing any problems!


How much space is needed?

In general you will need to allow a minimum of 4 feet at the front of the castle for safety mats and 5 feet at the rear for the blower & inflation tube, plus 2 feet either side of the bouncy castle for access, but please check the specific requirements for the inflatable you intend to hire by looking on the item description underneath the inflatable dimensions. Please make sure all garden items such as garden toys, swings, slides, trampolines, patio furniture, rubbish etc are removed from the area where the castle is to be sited.


Do you need an electric supply?

Yes, all our bouncy castles need an electric supply to run the blower to inflate the castle and will need to be left on to keep the castle inflated.


How much electricity does a bouncy castle use?

Most of our inflatable blowers use approximately 1.1kWh our Disco dome blower 2.4kWh, to work out the cost you will need to check your tariff to see what you are charged per kWh. As a rough guide less than 50p (pence) per hour.


Is there an age limit on the bouncy castles or soft play equipment?

No not age limit, Inflatables have a maximum user numbers based on user heights, our castles have varied user height limits which include inflatables suitable for adults too (These inflatables will state on our website that they are suitable for children and adults). Please check the bouncy castle description for further details.

Soft play equipment is suitable for children under 5 years only.


Do you have insurance?

Yes, Mendip Bouncy Castles has £5m public liability insurance. It is however important that you, the hirer, understand what this means. This insurance covers US, Mendip Bouncy Castles, against damage or injury caused by unsafe or improper set-up, or faulty equipment. It DOES NOT protect against injury, damage or loss caused through either negligent use of the equipment, poor supervision or altering any aspect of the set-up after delivery, or through normal use where accidents may occur.

You, the hirer, are not covered by our insurance, as it is impossible for us to insure you against your liabilities. This is the case with EVERY bouncy castle hire company in the country.


Delivery Policy

The cost of delivering to a particular area will be revealed when you choose this area. We may be able to deliver outside the areas available on our website. If you are outside of the areas shown on our website, please contact us to see if we can help you out.

If we are unable to provide your delivery due to adverse weather, vehicle failure, illness or any other factor, we will inform you of this at the earliest possible opportunity. Delivery times can be arranged during the booking process.

Please ensure that there is adequate space for our products, that the location our products will be sited is accessible, and that you have cleared the area of mess and debris. We will be unable to provide a refund if we cannot deliver your product due to a lack of space or accessibility or due to an inappropriate location.
